A drum-type bioreactor better meets the requirements for the technological process of eco-friendly biologically active fertilizer production from livestock and poultry wastes. However, the great size of the heat transfer surface of the bioreactor drum and its significant ejection momentum during spinning require quite a lot of energy. To decrease this consumption, the main constructive parameters should be optimized. The analysis of the main indicators of the biofermentration process and methods of their determination shows that the elimination of shortcomings can be implemented in the following directions: acceleration of the substrate oxidation processes by biological catalysts-enzymes; intensification of the mass transfer between microflora, substrate and oxygen by increasing the substrate grinding and increasing its porosity; equalization of the temperature field along the cross-section of the composted mass by strengthening the heat insulation; acceleration of the loading-unloading processes and reducing NPK loss by additional processing.\nDevices that operate continuously have been established to be most promising. They fully meet technological and operational requirements. Mixing mass prevents compression and formation of anaerobic zones; maintaining the optimum range of gas content and moisture accelerates the composting process; the simplicity of the construction ensures reliable automation of the process. | | Access Full Text (PDF) | |
